How Does Kasasa® Work?

Simple things like using your debit card and receiving eStatements save you time and make life easier. Those small changes also help save us some money. We can then pump that money back into the community — and to pay you rewards!

Qualifications

Qualifying for rewards is easy — so easy, in fact, you're probably already doing it! To earn your rewards, simply do the following activities and transactions in your Kasasa Cash account each monthly qualification cycle:

  • Have at least 12 debit card purchases post and settle
  • Be enrolled and receive eStatement notice
  • Be enrolled and log into online banking

That's it. If you don't meet the qualifications one month, don't worry. There is no penalty, and you still have a free checking account that earns our base interest rate. Plus, you can get back to earning major interest and nationwide ATM fee refunds the very next month.

*Qualification Information: Account transactions and activities may take one or more days to post and settle to the account and all must do so during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in order to qualify for the account's rewards. The following activities do not count toward earning account rewards: ATM withdrawals and ATM-processed transactions, transfers between accounts, debit card purchases processed by merchants and received by our bank as ATM transactions, and purchases made with debit cards not issued by our bank. Transactions bundled together by merchants and received by our institution as a single transaction count as a single transaction for the purpose of earning account rewards. "Monthly Qualification Cycle" means a period beginning one (1) business day prior to the first day of the current statement cycle through one (1) business day prior to the close of the current statement cycle. Reward Information: When your Kasasa Cash account qualifications are met during a Monthly Qualification Cycle, (1) balances up to $10,000 receive APY of 2.00%; and balances over $10,000 earn 0.35% interest rate on the portion of balance over $10,000, resulting in a range from 2.00% to 0.37% APY depending on the account's balance and (2) you will receive reimbursements (max. $4.99 per individual transaction) for nationwide ATM withdrawal fees imposed by our institution, as well as other financial institutions, and incurred during the Monthly Qualification Cycle in which you qualified. An ATM receipt must be presented for reimbursements of individual ATM withdrawal fees of $10.00 or higher and will be reimbursed up to a maximum of $4.99 per individual transaction. If you have not received an appropriate reimbursement, we will adjust the reimbursement amount if we receive the transaction receipt within sixty (60) calendar days of the withdrawal transaction. When Kasasa Cash qualifications are not met, all balances in the account earn 0.05% APY and ATM withdrawal fees are not refunded. Interest and ATM withdrawal fee reimbursements will be credited to your Kasasa Cash account on the last day of the current statement cycle. APY = Annual Percentage Yield. The APY is accurate as of 10/1/2016. Rates and rewards are variable and may change after the account is opened. Fees may reduce earnings. Additional Information: Account approval, conditions, qualifications, limits, timeframes, enrollments, log-ons and other requirements apply. A $25 minimum deposit is required to open the account. Qualifications: To qualify for the Kasasa Cash Preferred Rate and receive reimbursements for the ATM fee surcharges, you must meet the following requirements during the Monthly Qualification Cycle: 1) Debit Cards: Twelve (12) debit card purchase transactions must post and settle to your Kasasa Cash account per Monthly Qualification Cycle. Only debit card transactions processed by merchants and received by the bank as point-of-sale transactions count towards qualifying debit card transactions. 2) Electronic Statements: Be enrolled and receive your monthly account statement electronically. 3) Online Banking: Be enrolled and log into Online Banking at least one time per Monthly Qualification Cycle. Limit one (1) account per social security number. There are no recurring monthly service charges or fees to open or close this account.
